Adenomyosis

A reverse abnormal condition of endometriosis in which endometrium grows in the uterine walls is termed as Adenomyosis. This is not a life taking disease. It can be at certain places in the uterus or grow all over it and causes damage to the uterus from within. Here the tissue breaks and blood spots occur.

Symptoms Of Adenomyosis

In 33 percent of cases adenomyosis has no signs and symptoms and if it's not treated at the right time it could cause severe health issues. This condition might sometimes cause symptoms like heavy and prolonged painful bleeding, painful sexual intercourse, crampings, irregular bleeding, severe pain in the abdomen.

Bloating and abnormal pain is also a sign of Adenomyosis many people might experience and an increase in the size of the uterus(bulky uterus)

Causes Of Adenomyosis

Some of the risk factors causing Adenomyosis are prior uterine surgery for C section, fibroid removal, dilatation, and curettage, etc. The exact cause of this disease is still undetected. Women who are in their middle age and are mothers generally have Adenomyosis.

As per ayurveda opposite motion of vata dosha is the main cause of Adenomyosis. An improper sleeping pattern can adversely cause you this problem and infertility in a continued manner for a prolonged period could cause this issue. And consumption of unhealthy food which lacks nutrition also causes Adenomyosis.

Difference Between Endometriosis and Adenomyosis?

The lining of the wall in endometriosis spread out of the uterus and might hurt the organs near the uterus like ovaries, fallopian tube, and bladder. When a person deals with adenomyosis they face a problem related to the deep lining of the mucous wall of the uterus and results in the thickening of it. And it is the internal endometriosis.

Difference in Symptoms

Endometriosis causes pain in the belly but adenomyosis causes pain in the bladder and rectum. And any of these conditions causing menstrual bleeding might lead to adenomyosis.

Treatment

The diagnosis of adenomyosis can’t be done without doing a hysterectomy whereas endometriosis can be checked through ultrasound or with an MRI.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Adenomyosis

The imbalance in female hormones is cured with the help of ayurvedic treatment. The tissue which is abnormally grown undergoes the menstrual cycle changes like thickening, breaking down, and bleeding. This causes the uterus to enlarge and leads to pain and heavy menstrual bleeding

As per ayurveda where there is issue in the menstrual cycle there will be imbalance in the vata of the body since vata helps in giving a proper menstrual cycle to you. And if you have pain and clotting in a huge amount then there is involvement of pitta and kapha imbalance as well.

Basti: Since vata dosha is the main cause for Adenomyosis, and basti is an ardha chikitsa for vata dosha.
Basti chikitsa is found to be very effective for Adenomyosis for curing the infertility issue. In this procedure enema having herbal oil or decoction is released through Rectum and this increases the ovulation in females on a regular basis. Basti helps in regulating our hormonal access.

Uttarbasti:
In uttarbasti we insert kadha, ayurvedic oils and herbs inside the uterus. Uttarbasti is a specialized practice in ayurveda used for the treatment of Adenomyosis. This procedure will scrape out excessive uterus lining and bring the size of the uterus to its normal wellbeing.

Detoxification: First ayurveda prefers to perform detoxification therapy on the patient so as to get rid of the toxins of the body from the root. We make sure to balance the vata, pitta and kapha doshas of the patient and work on it. We provide treatment combinations which work on all the different issues of the patient like the bleeding, blood clots and size of the uterus.

Abhyanga: Ayurveda recommends abhyanga with the help of different oils and combinations of powder which will reduce the dosha occured in the lining, and the accumulation of tissues. And this massage makes the tissues dry out and reduces the vata dosha which in result reduces the size of uterus and swelling caused in it.

Herbs: There are certain herbs which are provided to the body by ayurvedic treatment which makes the body strong enough to self treat the dead tissues in the body and remove it. And these herbs will balance the vata, pita and kapha in the body.

Home Remedies:

* To prevent pain during the menstrual cycle, patients could provide mild heat to the abdomen and pelvis.

* To prevent inflammation the patient is recommended to consume turmeric.

* Cumin and fenugreek seeds mixed in boiled water can be consumed.

* Try taking food which is easy to digest and hot in nature.

If the pain through which the patient is dealing is unbearable and medicines are not enough to cure it then you can go for Laparoscopy which will remove the uterus of the patient. This is a very safe and simple surgery and needs only 4 to 5 days of abstinence. Adenomyosis is a curable issue and patients have no need to get worried. There is no risk of cancer in this, the only condition is that it must be properly diagnosed.
