About Us Panchkarma

Indian Ayurveda has given the world a considerable measure of things. These things have changed the way individuals live and they have made the progress from a world loaded with ailments to the world perfectly fit and healthy. The significance of Ayurveda is tremendous and it is without a doubt the main practice with regards to alternate forms of medicine.
Ostensibly the most eminent branch of Ayurveda is Panchakarma. The name Panchakarma literally means "Five Actions" which is well-suited given the fact that this technique relies upon five distinctive basic activities that control the body namely Vomiting, Purgation, Niruham, Anuvaasan, and Nasyam. In other words, Panchakarma healing technique is a pillar on which the majority of Ayurvedic techniques stand.
Panchakarma works best with the utilization of medicated oils that helps in eliminating the impurities from the human body. Panchakarma is the true manifestation of the Ayurvedic values and it lives up to its reputation.

Preoperative Procedure

Panchakarma is a method which needs to be done after the body is ready to give away the toxins. The procedures which are used to prepare your body to give away the toxins are termed as snehan and svedan.
Snehan(Abhyanga): The procedure termed as snehan is done by massaging the body with the help of oil inorder to make the toxins move towards the place from where it can easily be eliminated with vomiting, this place is termed as gastrointestinal tract. This procedure helps the tissues of the body to become smooth and release the stress of the nervous system. This process is carried out for three to seven days.
Svedana: Svedana is termed as steam therapy which is given just after the snehan is done in order to produce sweat in the body. During svedana the motive is to loosen the toxins from the individual's body and thus some herbal concoction is added in the steam. This method ultimately makes the toxins become liquid and move towards the part of the body from where they will be eliminated.

Panchakarma Basic Steps

Vamana

Vamana is one of the methods in panchakarma in which the waste products and toxins of the body termed as doshas in ayurveda are thrown out through the mouth in the form of vomiting. This practice is performed when the stomach of the person going through therapy is empty and the kapha is at an intense rate which is the time of early morning. Here all the toxins of the body are brought to land in the stomach so as to eliminate it through vomiting, this is done in the preoperative procedure of panchakarma.

Virechan:

The process of purification or cleansing in panchakarma is termed as Virechana therapy, Virechana helps in blood purification and cleaning the pitta in the body. This process helps to eradicate the toxins that are brought together with the help of preoperative methods and are now present in the gastro-intestinal tract, plus the liver and gallbladder containing the toxins are also cleared. The duration of the treatment varies as per the body and the amount of toxins in the person going through the procedure. In some cases the person can directly be treated with virechana without going through vamana.

Basti:

During this procedure an enema of herbal medicated oils or decoctions are inculcated in the intestine if the individual through the anal route. This treatment might sound as the ones patients going through constipation are treated with but basti is way more effective than this. This method helps to bring out the impurities from head to toe of the individual and work on all the tissues and organs of the body.
In the disease a vata is a very active principle and if the procedure of basti could control the effect caused by vata half of the problems of the patient is said to be cured. Basti is a practice which can be performed on any patient, of any age group, after a proper analysis of the body and the toxins contained in it. Plus this practice can be performed on a perfectly fit person as well.

Nasya:

Nasya as the name suggests is a treatment done through the nose of the individual. Here the herbal oils, medicated oils, juices and powders are inculcated in the nose of the individual which is termed as inculcation with the nasal route. This procedure works on the impurities and diseases related to the nose, throat and ear and so the medicines are inculcated through nasal route. In this procedure the medicated oils and powder inculcated through the nose goes into the brain and the blood circulation around the nostrils. This practice removes the blockage caused by the impurities in the body and clears and removes the blockages caused to the senses of the body present above the neck. This procedure helps the brain overcome the effects caused by the diseases

Rakta Moksha:

This practice helps to remove the toxins present in the blood of the gastrointestinal tract which are continuously flowing into the body of the individual. These toxins in the blood are the main cause of infection and are called toxemia, and causes hypertension. Pitta is released in the body after being produced from the red blood cells, and thus blood and pitta are interconnected. Alcohol, salt, sugar, yogurt etc are several elements which might create toxins in the blood of the individual. Leech Therapy is the most commonly applied method in Rakta Moksha.
