Ayurveda helps in establishing the balance between mind body and soul by educating and producing introductory yoga protocols which work around the doshas and sub-doshas, agni ( fleshly fire) and dhatus ( fleshly apkins), with the help of pranayama, asana, mudra, and contemplation.

What Does Yoga Mean?

A spiritual discipline made up of different practices and based on science is termed as yoga and focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. In vedic science ayurveda was established for providing some sort of healing to the mind and body of an individual. Yoga is not introduced just to make people do physical exercise, it’s meant to heal the mind of a person and concentrate on the spiritual well being of a person.

Yoga & Ayurveda

Yoga in ayurveda is mentioned as Charaka Shamita. To get rid of physical stress yoga is important, and this helps in calming the mind before meditation. Yoga helps in reviving all the senses and making the body of an individual stress free.

Ayurveda focuses on knowing the body type and working on balancing the doshas of the body, mainly the vata, pita and kapha. Yoga helps in achieving the objective of ayurveda in various manners and thus they are interconnected.

Based on the body type of individual ayurveda has recommended various poses which are

Vata

This body type people are quick in their work, they have a creative mind and try to enjoy every moment of their life and thus the various symptoms of imbalance in their body are anxiety, dryness and insomnia. These types of people recommend certain poses to try out like Mountain pose, spinal twists, inversions etc. They are also asked to practice deep and calm breathing inorder to nourish and provide them a feeling of self care.

Pitta

This body type people have a sense of passion in everything they do as work with full enthusiasm and courage in themselves and when the anger and competitiveness is seen in them in an increased and unpredictable manner it's termed as the symptoms of imbalance in their body. This type of people are asked to practice postures which provide a sense of cooling to their body and release the heat and tension they are going through. They are also advised to do bends, heart openers like bow and camel and the ability to slow down.

Kapha

This body type people are somewhere more consistent in their work, have a sense of devotion, are stable in their choices and are strong in nature. These people when they go through procrastination, dullness, and congestion are said to have some imbalance in their body.
